Putting people at the heart of success

Human resources are the lifeblood of any business. Given the current labour shortage, recruiting, retaining, and managing employees has become increasingly difficult as candidates have plenty of job opportunities from which to choose. The CCAQ offers current, hands-on, insightful advice on human resources issues and a host of useful tools and training courses tailored to the automotive sector. Our dealers are given everything they need to ensure the well-being of their employees and to secure the next generation of competent workers.

Exceptional consulting services

Our team of experts works to support and guide our members in all aspects of human resources management, including advice on organizational development, training recommendations, and questions about the pre-employment screening process.

Our online Members Page has practical guides and customizable documents, such as a psychological wellness toolkit, resources for answering questions and conducting a pay equity exercise, job descriptions, and sample contracts and company policies. There is also a wealth of useful information on topics such as occupational standards and harassment in the workplace.

Customized training and tools

Our team works with experts to develop online training courses (webinars, videos, conferences) to provide answers to the most frequently asked questions. These courses are made available to all our members and can be accessed any time via our Training Academy. The platform offers a host of useful and relevant training modules related to human resources and other aspects of business, such as legal and tax issues.

Each course is designed to meet the specific needs of the automotive industry and ensures easy access to existing resources. Reference links and downloadable documents make it easy to find the information you need when you need it.

Trade outreach

Finding qualified and reliable staff starts with sending a clear, attractive, and targeted message to various labor pools. The implementation of retention and professional development programs is also key to ensuring a competent and loyal workforce. With this is mind, we have teamed up with other industry players to educate the public on the various career opportunities, training options, and benefits of working in the automotive industry.

The CCAQ sits on the board of directors of the Comité sectoriel de main-d’œuvre des services automobiles (CSMO-Auto), an organization with a mission to support businesses and workers in matters of human resources management, training program development, trade promotion, and information dissemination

Triennial compensation surveys

In most organizations, compensation, benefits, and human resources training make up the largest category of operating expenditures. The issue is made worse for car dealers in Quebec, where compensation takes on a different role. For many of our members, compensation serves as a powerful motivator for employees to meet and exceed business objectives.

Every three years, our human resources team conducts a compensation survey, which has unparalleled advantages in the context of the current labour shortage affecting several trades in the automotive sector. A compensation survey provides a snapshot of a particular industry or profession as well as information on industry practices, such as the creation of new positions or significant salary increases in a particular profession.
