Knowledgeable dealers

The automotive industry is governed by many laws, including those of the Office de la protection du consommateur, the Autorité des marchés financiers, and the Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité au travail.

Fortunately, the CCAQ’s department of legal affairs is there to make sure our dealers are in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Our team also offers a one-of-a-kind service: unlimited access to advice from experts in the automotive industry. Members can call with questions about the legal aspects of their business or customer service and receive expert advice and information.

Unbeatable consulting services

Our team is made up of experienced specialists that advise, support, and answer legal questions from our members in relation to their business and the industry.

Over the years, we have grown our expertise, expanded our activities, and built a solid reputation among members of the CCAQ. We are proud to offer our dealers the best possible service.

Forms and contracts you can trust

Our team provides forms and standard contracts drafted by a legal advisor and analyzed by a tax advisor. This way, our dealers have the tools they need to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

In addition to meeting all the requirements of the Consumer Protection Act, these contracts provide a clearer understanding of the terms and conditions of a purchase or lease and help clients comprehend the full extent of their commitment before they sign.

Bonding services

By law, car dealers must provide a bond to the Office de la protection du consommateur to obtain a merchant’s permit to sell vehicles in Quebec. A bond ensures that the dealer fulfills its obligations to customers.

This protects the consumer in the event that the company goes out of business. This service is one of the most appreciated by our members because it is more affordable and advantageous than dealing with an insurance company and gives customers peace of mind.

Registration of rights in the Register of Personal and Movable Real Rights

Are you looking to purchase a used vehicle and want to know if it has any outstanding debt? The Register of Personal and Movable Real Rights (RPMRR) is a computerized government registry that makes it easy to learn about your rights in relation to movable property items, whether they have been put up as security, and if they are free of debt.

When you purchase a vehicle from a CCAQ member dealer, there are no hidden fees. One less thing to worry about!

A free complaint processing program with CAA Quebec

CAA members in a dispute with a member of the CCAQ are eligible for our free complaint processing program. Simply contact the CAA’s consulting service and they will open a file. The program aims to bring both parties together to resolve disagreements in a mutually beneficial manner.
